Beat the Kink Bobble Review

For months all I’ve seen and heard about is the Invisibobble and I have to admit I was intrigued. Now that my hair has grown to the point where can (finally!) start tying it back, I realised that I actually needed to invest in some new hair bobbles- most of my old ones seem to have gone for a walk.

The pet hate that I’ve always had with traditional bobbles is that they kink your hair. Since I have very thin hair I only have to have it back in a ponytail for a few minutes for this to happen. If I wanted to tie my hair back and moisturise my face or do my makeup, I always had to straighten my hair again afterwards which was really impractical when I’m in a rush to catch the train to uni.

I read a blog post (I’m sorry I don’t remember who by) about these new bobbles called Invisibobbles that don’t kink your hair- Hallelujah!

Now I’m not going to lie I was a bit sceptical about this but I decided I was going to give it a go, I needed some anyway and if they did work then it would be a bonus.

I popped into Boots and noticed that next to the branded version, there was the Boots own brand ones for half the price!

I looked at both and couldn’t tell the difference except the packaging, so I decided to go for the own brand and see what they were like.

I absolutely love them!

They do exactly what people said: they don’t kink my hair at all! I had my hair up for nearly 6 hours and it came out exactly the same way as it went in- straight!

I don’t know if there’s a difference between the branded and own brand versions but I honestly can’t think of anything else these bobbles could do to make them even better. Unless of course they can teach me how to create a messy bun that doesn’t make me look like Mrs Trunchbull- that would be great!

I would definitely recommend investing in some of these if you haven’t already. You can pick up both branded and unbranded in two colours- black or clear. I picked up the clear ones as my hair is quite light these days and I thought the black ones would stand out.

Oh and just a little side note- you get four bands in the Boots ones but only three in the Invisibobble. Even better value! I keep one one in my bag, one on my bedside table, one over by my makeup and then the other is just floating around…somewhere…please tell me I’m not the only one who looses hair bands and bobby pins the second I buy them?!

I won’t sit here and tell you which ones are better, or which you should buy. I just want to give you my honest opinion and since I haven’t tried the Invisibobble, I can’t really make a fair comparison. I’ll leave you to make your own minds up but I would definitely recommend investing in a pack, they’re fantastic!

I’ll leave the link to both of them below, so you can check them out if you’re interested.

I love invisisabobles, the only annoying thing I find is sometimes they slide out of my hair!

I can’t say I’ve had that problem yet surprisingly, though I’ve not really been moving much while I’ve had them in…may need to check that next lol
