You can’t go wrong with an all-natural facial cleanser

Cleansing your face during hot summer days is an absolute must simply because the combination of sweat, dirt, and dead skin cells can do more harm than good for your skin. You can always rely on natural ingredients such as honey and aloe vera, which can do a really good job when it comes to cleansing. You’ll need ¼ cup of both aloe vera and honey, and one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Mix these together and store the mixture in a sealed jar. Apply a small amount of this cleanser to your hand, massage it into your face, and let it sit for a minute. Rinse with lukewarm water and voila – your skin is all clean and fresh!

Rose water to the rescue

In case you didn’t know, rose water can be extremely beneficial for your skin. Basically, this is just flavoured water created by distilling rose petals with steam, or steeping them in water. This wonderful liquid has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it one of the best toners out there. Its fragrance is absolutely stunning and refreshing, so you can be sure that it’ll uplift your soul and soothe all your senses. If you want to make rose water on your own, you’ll need 2 cups of rose petals and 3 cups of distilled water. Bring the rose petals and water to a boil over medium-high heat, and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Steep the petals in the water for about 45 minutes, and strain the rose water with cheesecloth. Your perfect summer facial toner is all done!

Sugar is a must for a quick exfoliating treatment

Exfoliation is another crucial step in summer skincare routine since you simply need to get rid of those dead skin cells that have been piling up for God knows how long. A gentle scrub two to three times a week is exactly what you need if lifeless, flaky, and dull skin definitely isn’t your cup of tea. You can always make a homemade scrub using the ingredients you already have in your kitchen – sugar and previously mentioned honey and aloe vera. Mix one cup of white sugar, ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil, 3 tablespoons of honey, and one tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Store the mixture in a glass jar, in a cool, dark place, and use it not more than 3 times a week for smooth and silky skin!

Don’t forget a bunch of great branded products

On the other hand, if you’re not interested in mixing and combining all those natural ingredients in your own kitchen, you can turn to some branded skincare products that also feature natural ingredients. Clarifying clay mask by Dr Hauschka is one of those fabulous products that will do wonders for your skin. It will absorb excess sebum and all the impurities, while deep cleansing and disinfecting your skin. This brand also offers amazing toning body oil that features blackthorn – the ingredient that strengthens and warms the skin. You should definitely pick this product if you want firmer skin. Besides that, its pleasant smell will sweep you off your feet!

As you can see, there are so many ways to take care of your skin and stay healthy at the same time. Even though this task can be a bit more challenging over summer, when the temperatures start going through the roof, the truth is that your skincare routine has never been simpler. Just turn to natural ingredients and you’re halfway there!
