It’s the most wonderful timeeee of the year!
I’ve always had a love hate relationship with Christmas, which I think I’m going to talk about in a future post, but this year I’m determined to actually get into the Christmas spirit and actually enjoy it this year.
I didn’t do a monthly favourite last month, mainly because I was trying to make myself create a YouTube video and thought that a monthly favourites would be a good video so start with. As you might have guessed, that never happened. I tried a few times but I’m really not comfortable on camera, even though I’ve been acting since I was about 6 years old and been in more plays and shows than I can count.
Maybe I’ll be able to work myself up to creating video content or maybe not, I’ll have to see. In the meantime I’m not going to try and pressure myself to do something I’m obviously not comfortable doing, so I’ll be sticking to just written content for the rest of the year.
So what have I been loving this month?
So as you may have noticed; I have a new blog theme! I’d been eying this one from the amazing Kotryna Bass up for a few months but as my blog doesn’t bring me in a regular income (or any kind of income really) I’d been reluctant to invest yet more money into it. However I saw that she had a sale on over Black Friday and decided to finally pick it up. I’m so glad that I did, I feel like my blog looks a lot more professional now and it’s a lot more customisable than my old one.
Best of all she installs it for you- for free! I’m the worst at all things technical and when I tried to install it myself I seriously messed up my whole blog. Queue huge panic and quickly filling out the form to get it done by the professionals. Definitely the smarter idea!
I had been waiting for this to come out for so long and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve always loved the Assassins Creed series but this one being set in Egypt is perfect for me; one of my aspie “obsessions” is Egypt and as a kid I actually taught myself to read basic hieroglyphs. While I’ve calmed down quite a bit since hitting my 20’s its still something I love and find interesting and I was so glad that they’ve really done their research with this game! The Gods and Goddesses, language, customs and architecture are all correct as far as I can tell which makes me happier than it should.
It’s completely open world so there are no loading screens between areas, has an immersive and really engaging storyline on both the main and all the side quests (to the point where I really wanted to go assassinate one person because they’d killed a young child) and eagle vision is now an actual eagle called Senu!
All in all its no surprise that I’m behind on blogging and uni work- I’ve been too busy playing this…
I mentioned getting this in my Favorite Shows To Binge Watch post but I feel I need to mention it again here. I picked it up in the Black Friday sales and I’ve barely watched normal tv since getting it. Not only can you get Amazon Prime on there but also things like; BBC iPlayer, YouTube Spotify and (even though I don’t have it) Netflix.
I used to use my Xbox to watch things which was a bit of a pain really but this has made my life so much easier. It was surprisingly easy to set up actually and while the Alexa voice control only works for Prime and doesn’t seem to like my Yorkshire accent, its a cool little feature than does save time if you know what you’re looking for.
I was sent this via PR last month from Gioventu and I’ve really been enjoying using it. When I was back in secondary school, some people in a science class “accidentally” poured some acid on my hands one lesson when we had been using it. Now I say accidentally because I never could prove they did it on purpose; the whole thing was well planned and even though my teacher knew they were bullying me and thought it had been done on purpose, there was nothing he could do to prove it.
Luckily it wasn’t strong acid (I actually don’t remember what type we were using) and I was told that there shouldn’t be any lasting damage done to my hands. They were mostly right; while I have no scaring or outward sign of damage, it has left me with cracked and dry skin where the acid touched me which can get pretty painful if I don’t constantly moisturise, especially in winter.
I normally use Hemp Creme from The Body Shop and that’s been perfect, I decided to try the oil out to see if that would work and I was presently surprised that it did! I’ve never tried oils before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but its left my skin really soft and smooth. I tired using it on my face too with my normal skincare routine and its been just as good on the dry skin here too. I thought that as someone with combination skin, an oil would be a bad idea but using a few drops on my problem areas has really helped. I’ll definitely be repurchasing when this one runs out as it’s been really useful!
November is my birthday month and it’s honestly been the best one I’ve had yet. Chris bought us tickets to go to Harry Potter Studios on my actual birthday and we booked a hotel so we could stay over too. I’ve already written a blog post on the whole day so if you want the full details you can read that here. Suffice it to say we both had an amazing day and both want to go back soon!
What was the highlight of your November?
