If you’re like me and you’re a part of the pale skin group, you’ll know that finding decent blushers is pretty damn hard. With most blushers, no matter how light handed I am and how little product I use, it looks way too bright and like I’ve been out in the freezing cold all day.
Not the look I’m after thanks.
For a long time I didn’t even bother with blusher because I couldn’t find a shade pale enough for me.
But over the years I’ve noticed a lot of brands are finally starting to make products for us paler girls. So after a lot of trial, error and wasted money, I’ve finally found three blushers that are pretty close to perfect for me.
This one was the first ever blusher I found that suited me, back when I was first discovering makeup. It is a bit on the pricey side at £25 but a little really does go a long way with this stuff, making it last a long time.
I still haven’t hit pan on it and I used it daily for about 5/6 months.
It’s so subtle that you don’t really notice you’re wearing it; it just adds a healthy bit of colour to your face without having to worry too much about being heavy handed.
I won’t lie, I sometimes use this as an eyeshadow on days when I’m not wanting to do too much with my eyes. A little bit of this on my lids plus a coat or two of Clinique High Impact Mascara is my go to look these days.
This has quickly become my all time favourite palette, I’m so glad I picked it up! It was on sale after Christmas as part of a gift set and I decided to treat myself to it; a decision I don’t regret at all.
I mainly stick to the one on the top right, the other one still looks nice but it’s a bit more noticeable and considering I’m in love with the “no makeup makeup” look at the moment, it doesn’t get works quite as often as the palest one.
I’d tell you the names but guess who threw out the little plastic card that comes with it without even looking at it… I’m such a fantastic blogger…
The only problem is that it turns out you can’t get this at the moment, its a limited edition palette that I’m pretty sure you can only get at Christmas.
Go figure, the hint is in the name Jade!
In all honesty I haven’t really found a drug store blusher that I’m 100% happy with yet, but this one comes pretty close. If I’m sleeping away somewhere and want to keep the makeup I take with me to a minimum- this is the palette I take with me.
If I use a light hand and only a small amount of product, this blush can be so lovely- especially in the summer. It has a lovely shimmery undertone that really stands out in the 5 days out of the year that we actually get any sunshine.
If you’re pale but not almost translucent like I am, you should be good.
I’m determined to go out and actually get some colour on me this summer. I’ve just sent off for a passport (yes thats right, I’m nearly 25 and don’t have a passport…) and I will go on my first ever holiday to somewhere warmer if I have to!
I’m sick of looking like an extra from Twilight.
Then again my skin is so sensitive that I would probably just burn rather than tan. When we went to Wales over the summer we were only out on the beach for about half an hour, but I ended up with seriously bad sunburn- and I was wearing factor 50 suncream at that!
But hey, red is better than white…right?
