What I Did For My Birthday; Harry Potter Photo Book

So for the first time in 24 years, I actually did something for my birthday!

To me birthdays are normally just another day really; all my family except me and my parents are part of a religion that doesn’t celebrate birthdays or Christmas (10 House Points if you actually know which religion this is) so as you can imagine, it’s quite a quiet affair.

However this year Chris decided I was going to actually do something for my birthday and bought me tickets to go to Harry Potter Studios!!

I knew there was a reason I loved him!

I’ve been down once before with Abby and had a fantastic time but this time it was even better; because it was my birthday I got to open The Great Hall doors!! Not just that but by sheer dumb luck we ended up being there for Hogwarts in the snow too!

Yeah this is going to end up being quite an explanation mark heavy post- sorry in advance!

The Forbidden Forrest was a bit of a let down if I’m honest, there didn’t seem to be much there apart from a lot of trees. Although saying that I did pretty much run through it because the spiders randomly drop down from the ceiling and I was terrified one was going to drop on or in front of me when you have to walk under the tree roots!

I’m with Ron on this one; “why is it never follow the butterflies?!

I took 170+ photos on the day, which is way too many to actually put into a post! Instead I’ll be picking some of my favourites and then turning the rest into a video, which I’ll then post on YouTube.

I’m still trying to get myself to actually start recording YouTube videos so maybe this might give me the kick in the butt that I need to get started!

If you aren’t into photo heavy posts then this probably isn’t going to be the one for you. Also if you haven’t been yet and don’t want to spoil the surprise then again, I’d give this one a miss!

So now that you’ve been warned, it’s onto the photos! (I haven’t had the time to edit them so one or two might be a bit dark- apologies in advance!)

Why do I have to look so bloody derpy in every.single.photo?!

We also stayed over night in a gorgeous Premier Inn about 5 minutes drive away. The hotel was lovely but it took us 15 minutes to find the entrance to the car park! (Hint: its through the TGI’s car park from some unknown reason…).

This was our first time staying away from home together and it was lovely to have some time completely to ourselves where we could just relax and feel like “real” adults for once.

Well, kind of…

Either way it’s probably the closest we’re going to come to living together with this pathetic excuse for a government in power.

If you want to see the video with all 170+ photos on it then you can check it out here. Also if you want to a gal a favour and subscribe to me it would mean a lot!

Have you been to Harry Potter Studios? What was your favourite part?

  • Ah I love the Harry Potter Studios! It’s so amazing to see the set in person, I was walking around the place in awe and wander. I couldn’t believe that those were actually pieces from the film, and the actors would work there everyday, it’s incredible. It sounds like you had a fab birthday! x

I know it’s amazing to think they grew up there! I always dreamed of being an actress (I used to act in a lot of plays as a child) so it’s fantastic to see the behind the scenes stuff! It was a fantastic birthday thank you 🙂 x
